Over a century and a half old, Casino de Monte Carlo has been a setting for multiple James Bond movies and truly stands out in one of the world’s most-lavish vacation destinations.

Despite its unique look and incredible high-roller atmosphere, the casino is rarely featured in the media because cameras aren’t allowed inside. But TheRealDeal, courtesy of photographer Eric Gaillard, offers a rare sneak peak at the iconic establishment.

“I was surprised by the lavishly decorated interior, and greeted by the sound of vacuum cleaners as valets cleaned the gaming tables, removing dust and bits of foreign matter that might compromise gambling results. I quickly realize how privileged I am to witness this private world with its codes and particularities,” Gaillard wrote on his Reuters blog.

Casino de Monte Carlo was originally built to keep Monaco’s House of Grimaldi from going bankrupt.

The casino and its Belle Epoque style are impressive enough. It only helps matters that the world-famous gambling hub is set near the rocky shores of the Mediterranean Sea, in a venerable paradise.
