Ancient Egypt is by far one of the most-popular online slots themes. And Betsoft has thrown their hat into this crowded ring with Legend of the Nile slots.

As you’ll find out in this review, Legend of the Nile has a few aspects that separate it from similar games. I’m going to look at the good points to this slot, along with the one downside.

Also keep in mind that you can play Legend of the Nile slots here.

Cluster Pays & Exploding Wins

Legend of the Nile doesn’t have paylines like most slots. Instead, it features a clusters-pays format, whereby you hit wins with 4 or more touching symbols. For example, you’ll net a win by getting 4 or more pharaohs in a cluster.

The symbols explode every time that you get a win. This allows icons from above to fall into their place and create more payouts.

Ra Power Bar

You’ll see a “Power Bar” on the left-hand side, which measures your progress towards free spins, multipliers, and a progressive jackpot. The Power Bar resets after every turn, meaning you need to get enough Ra’s to fill the bar within the same spin.

Getting between 8x and 15x Ra symbols earns you between 8 and 11 free spins. Netting 17x Ra symbols gives you a multiplier worth 400x your total bet. And 20x Ra symbols triggers the progressive jackpot, which is currently worth over $17,000.

Interesting Background with Detailed Graphics

Betsoft did a good job of separating Legend of the Nile from other Egyptian slots by creating a unique background.

I like the way that they blended the sphinx statues, lotus flowers, pyramids, and water to make this look different from Egyptian games, which usually happen in a tomb or the middle of the desert.

One Downside – Symbol Graphics could Look Better

The only thing that I’d improve upon with this game is the symbol graphics. While not terrible, the icons don’t look as good as the background. But I’m assuming that the symbols would look better if they weren’t so small, due to the 6×7 grid.

Overall Take on Legend of the Nile Slots

Legend of the Nile is a great slot for anybody who’s looking for something different in this genre. The cluster pays, good background, and Ra Power Bar give you a game that’s totally unique in comparison to other Egyptian slots.
